Deadline on Feb 1, 2024
Job description:
The Institute of Quantum Matter (IQM) at South China Normal University (SCNU) solicits applications for several faculty positions in nuclear and particle physics, as well as related fields. The anticipated start date is in Fall 2024, and we offer flexibility for an earlier commencement. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in nuclear or particle physics. We hold a strong preference for candidates with expertise in designing and developing electron accelerator and silicon detector (e.g LGAD) technologies. However, we also enthusiastically welcome applications from individuals with proficiency in other particle detectors and electronics.
The research interests of IQM span a diverse spectrum, including nuclear physics theory and experiments (RHIC-STAR, LHC-LHCb, LHC-CMS, BESIII), particle physics phenomenology, hadron physics, lattice QCD, as well as the application of quantum computing in high energy physics. The successful candidates are expected to establish dynamic and independent research programs, continuing the research directions mentioned above, and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.
We provide internationally competitive salary and startup funding for these faculty positions.
Interested applicants should submit:
1. a curriculum vitae including a list of publications;
2. at least three reference letters;
3. a statement of research interest,
to Ms. Minmin Wang (wmmiqmoffice@scnu.edu.cn) and cc to Prof. Hongxi Xing (hxing@m.scnu.edu.cn). If you have any questions about the position, feel free to send a message to hxing@m.scnu.edu.cn. Review of applications will begin on December 15, 2023, and continue until the positions are filled.
