Statement of Faith

We believe fully in all of the statements made in the Nicene Creed.

The Nicene Creed (381 A.D.)

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,

of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

the only Son of God,

eternally begotten of the Father,

God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made,

of one Being with the Father.

Through Him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation

He came down from heaven:

by the power of the Holy Spirit

He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,

and was made man.

For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

He suffered death and was buried.

On the third day, He rose again

in accordance with the Scriptures;

He ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,

and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son.

With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.

He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic (universal)

and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead,

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

We are committed to responding to our Lord by acting upon His Word with particular emphasis on the following:

We believe that God loves us with an everlasting love, and has a plan to give each one of us hope and a purposeful future according to:

Jeremiah 29:11-13

“I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. "When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen. "When you come looking for me, you'll find me. "Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I'll make sure you won't be disappointed." God's Decree. "I'll turn things around for you…” (Message Bible)

We believe the wonderful news of God's love needs to be shared with all people, and believe it is the privilege of everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ to respond to the call of our Lord in a personal way to the truth found in:

Matthew 25:31-46

I was hungry and you fed me,  
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,  
I was homeless and you gave me a room,  
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,  
I was sick and you stopped to visit,  
I was in prison and you came to me…'_

…Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me. (Message Bible)

We believe that it is the will of God for the whole of the Body of Christ to be fitted together personally; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, as well as corporately, regardless of our backgrounds, giftings or resources.

Ephesians 2:19

That's plain enough, isn't it? You're no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You're no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He's using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he's using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home. (Message Bible)

1 Thessalonians 5:22-24

May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If He said it, He'll do it!
