Board
Kathleen McCallister along with her husband Mike McGee have labored long together on church boards and committees, including mentoring many; they know no strangers, only friends they have yet to meet. Their love for people and service to the Lord has made them stalwarts in the pursuit of the lost.
Kathleen, as a long-time public servant; Omaha School Board, State Board of Education and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners brings diverse networks to the work of New Hope Life Center for Women. She also has a long history of mentoring women in life recovery.
As the Lord birthed His dream for New Hope Life Center for Women, Kathleen became the mid-wife. She has poured out her life in pursuit of this dream becoming a reality. There is no job too large or too small to catch her attention if it means that women will be free in the end. Kathleen serves as President of New Hope.
Mike Whealy has been married to his wife Brenda for 34 years. Together they have grown in their love of Christ and commitment to the poor. They demonstrate this in a number of ways including acting as long time volunteers at the Douglas County Correctional Center, teaching men and women.
Following his retirement as CAO of First Data, Mike works tirelessly as a devoted member of a number of local boards; Grace University, Coram Deo Church, Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, Hope Center for Kids, Mosaic Community Development.
Mike as co-founder of New Hope has shown steadfast support for the establishment of New Hope Life Center for Women. Mike’s wisdom and perspective provide for solid long term planning for the success of New Hope. We are fortunate to have a person with Mike’s talents available to us acting as Vice President and Secretary of the board.
Diane Cory has been married to her husband Scott for 32 years. They are committed to seeing new believers in Christ discipled into maturity. They have worked tirelessly in a variety of ways to see this come to pass including ministering in Mozambique, Israel and Turkey. They serve as U.S. Directors of Prayer4Zion. Together with their three sons, they have founded Extreme Youth Community; dedicated to equipping the next generation of young people, pointing them toward a passionate pursuit of Christ as demonstrated by a lifetime of intimacy with the Lord and service.
Diane has written numerous, published Sunday School curricula, authored a best-selling children’s devotional series, taught women’s Bible studies, equipped women to minister in meaningful ways, and mentored and disciple many women including those in recovery.
As a Director on the New Hope Board, Diane offers objectivity and experience in ministry that helps us to evaluate progress and avoid error. We are blessed to have her on our team.
