One month of giving $425

One woman room and board includes 24/7 staff oversight and support with:

• Food $150 (food, laundry soap, shampoo etc.)

• Rent $200 (including utilities)

• Transportation to work – 30 day bus ticket $50

• Program materials…Recovery Bible $25  Bible Journal  $10

• Restarting™ Program Materials Trauma Recovery  $25

• Genesis Process™ Relapse Prevention Workbook  $25

• Genesis Change Group Workbook I $15 (for months 3 & 4)

• Genesis Change Group Workbook II $15  (for months 5 & 6)

Each woman works as soon as she is able to locate a job and begins to pay for her room and board.  The $425 monthly room and board is approximately 35% of the average income for a job that pays $7.00/hour working 40 hours per week.

Program costs exceed room and board fees.  In order to provide 24 hour a day support 365 days per year for the women who reside at New Hope Life Center for Women qualified staffing is a must.  We provide the staff for the safety of the residents, and to ensure compliance with all house rules, and all local, state and federal laws.

We do not require the first month’s rent when a woman enters New Hope Life Center for Women if she is unemployed and coming from incarceration or a treatment program.  Many women could not come to New Hope if we did require rent before she entered the program. We require that she perform extra chores during this time, and that she seek employment as her full time job until she finds work.

This allows women who would otherwise struggle and often fail on their own without support, to have a chance to succeed.  They are truly grateful for this approach; they know that it gives them an opportunity that would in other secular programs be unavailable to them.  It is demonstration of the love of Christ to them; that we would invest in their lives when there is nothing that requires that level of commitment, except for His love.
